T
oday on the blog, I talk to Diana Jakubcova, an online branding expert based in Bali, who specialises in building out of the ordinary brands for female industry leaders.
Diana discusses the importance of establishing a strong brand presence and shares her top tips for optimising your website conversions, as well as how to make your entrepreneurial journey a little bit easier.
Deeply Rooted Studio is a Brand and Consultancy firm, where we help passionate female CEOs build out-of-the-ordinary brands through our signature framework – Deeply Rooted Method™. This helps me build personality infused and timeless brands for each and every one of my clients.
I previously studied Fashion Design & Business and worked for several corporate companies as a Design Assistant. However, there has always been a little voice inside my head that wanted more freedom. Freedom of choice.
I started to dabble in the online space around four years ago when me and my boyfriend started to build e-commerce stores. We were really passionate about starting our own businesses so we’ve continued to grow. At one point, we were running a personal brand, teaching more than 300 students to do exactly the same – build e-commerce stores, run Facebook ads and sell physical products.
However, things changed once we decided to move to Bali. I was craving having my own community and space. I launched different brands and courses however nothing seemed to move the needle in the right direction. Until one day, when I started to sell $20 Canva templates in Facebook Groups.
This quickly turned into a branding studio where I started to work on different branding projects. Since then I have only continued to grow my business where I am now working with some of the leading names in the online industry.
The freedom that my business has given me. I’ve been able to live in Bali for the past two and a half years, being a breadwinner whilst I watch my business grow. I am absolutely blown away by working with such huge millionaire powerhouses which is something I could only have dreamt of a couple of years ago.
I personally love simplicity in my business, so I’ve got a couple of tips for you:
Make sure that you have a solid plan. And I don’t mean a “how many pages” plan. To turn your website into the most powerful asset yet, you need to know its primary goals. This could be anything from getting more leads to signing more clients.
Before you start designing your website you should prepare the following:
I wish someone told me that this is what it is! As much as we try to avoid a lot of things, we need to understand that everything we experience is part of this journey, which is different from anyone else’s out there.
There are days when everything is going exactly the way you want, and there are days when you wish you could just flush yourself down the toilet!
Entrepreneurship is challenging because it reveals everything about you. But at the end of the day, this was a choice we made because we wanted to create a better future for ourselves, no matter what that looks like for you.
It’s true what they say that consistency is the key. Some days I can’t believe that I’ve been doing this for the past two years, yet at the same time, this repetition and resilience have helped me grow my business.
The market has shifted DRASTICALLY and you need to be able to adapt quickly. With new people and businesses coming in every day, your brand is what will help you create a business that gets noticed and recognized.
It’s hard to pick one as all of my clients are killing it, but let me share my favorite two. One of my clients got featured multiple times in Forbes magazine and continues to land dream PR features to this day! She is an agency owner and, dare I say, the go-to in her space.
Another powerhouse client had an organic $80k launch after we rebranded her entire business and program. This has become her signature program that she continues to fill in with the most aligned clients.
I am a general rule breaker so I tend to do a lot of things differently in my business, but one of my most important USPs that has contributed to my 80% client retention rate is the client experience I provide. I have a very close relationship with my clients, and I love it that way. At Deeply Rooted Studio, you’re getting a white glove experience and a 1:1 approach which you typically don’t see amongst other designers and studios.
If you are serious about your business and you want results – I am your gal! If you are in the early stages of your business, where you are trying to figure out who your ideal client is and what you actually want to do, this might be a time to either book a consultation call or brand strategy session before you move into the more “creative” side of the branding.
If you are more seasoned, and by seasoned I don’t mean 5-6-7 figures, I mean if you…
…AKA you know how to bring in revenue, there is no reason why branding wouldn’t help you. At this stage, you want to really dive into your business’ creative direction so that you can stand out and create a buzz-worthy brand that no one else has.
If you know your ideal client inside and out, you have very strong values and beliefs that you want to reflect in your business and brand and you know what your core message is, then I’d recommend looking into a professional who can tie up all the loose ends.
Sometimes it’s hard to say whether someone is ready or not and I know it always comes down to what your budget is, but if you are here to stay and build an actual business, not just another IG profile – building a brand will help you get there.
