Why my first business failed - and how to avoid the same thing happening to you

On this episode of a Cup of Something Lovely, we’re exploring the history and the ultimate failure of my first baby business, which was established in my early twenties, right at the start of my career.

I’ll be reflecting on why it didn’t work but more importantly, the key things that I wish I’d done differently, in order to make it a success. This episode is packed full of key learnings and tips, perfect for the early-stage entrepreneur in their first few years of business.

It's never an easy thing to admit that you've failed. For me, especially. I can't stand it. I'm quite the perfectionist at heart and I'm naturally imbued with a tenacity to excel. So when I can't do something, or it doesn't go to plan, I can definitely feel frustrated.

The failure of my first business took my tolerance for failure to the limit. So much so that I actually ended up walking away from entrepreneurship entirely for around 7 years, before finally revisiting it with Ebb, Flow & Grow. I felt so ashamed that it hadn't worked out but I'm now able to reflect on why this happened, with so much more insight and maturity.

I've extracted the key learnings and pitfalls that impacted my first business, and created this episode to help you avoid experiencing the same thing with yours.

I hope you find this one super useful and if you keep scrolling down, you can actually still find a link to one of my digital magazine copies.

Enjoy!
